Default DC Radiator into DA

I tossed my original radiator because the fins were falling out and the car would overheat while sitting at stop lights or traffic but would cool down when I got air through it. So I went and bought a radiator from a local for $50 hoping that I could toss it in and be ok. It was from a DC Integra so I figured that it would be pretty close. Should have searched that one first. Anyways I thought then that I could just then cut the sides of that area out and squeeze it in but now that I look at it, it seems like it is also taller. Is it even worth it to do or should I just sell it and find a DA specific radiator? Im trying to get away for cheap because this is my DD that I will be selling soon.

Fins on a radiator have nothing to do with over-heating when you're stopped. Check your fans.

Will do that, but I tossed the radiator cause it was really bad. Over half the fins were missing.

.. And if your fans still don't turn on when your stopped check your thermo fan switch and your thermostat.

Ok, well that would make a difference.

I've never actually tried to do this swap, but give it a shot. It only takes a few mins to do (unless it's an auto) so give it a shot.

Would like to hear about the outcome for future reference

The problem that I see now is not that of the sides, it looks easy to cut into the support area and widen the area to accommodate the width. I feel that the height might be the problem but its hard to figure out because I can not see in their with the hood closed. I dont want to start cutting unless Im positive the height will be fine.

Now Im looking into just selling this radiator and picking up a Civic rad somewhere.

I put a DC radiator in my DA, I don't know if it will help mine is a fluidyne, I cut out the braces that the rediator sits on and then re-welded them a little lower and with the right width between them. Then made my own braces for the top to keep it in place.

I cant weld and do not really want to cut much of anything.

Figuring just to sell it and get either a Civic unit which is not as tall or just a stock unit.
