Default is the quaife differential suitable for track use?

What do you guys think of the quaife unit? Is it suitable for front drives on the track, or is there a more performance oriented unit out there that would be better for track use/daily driver use?

So is the gear-driven Quaife unit good enuff for track, or should I be looking at a internal clutch unit?

No track in particular, just any, reason I posted this forum is because the author of GETTING BEHIND THE WHEEL, Dave Gran, recommended against gear-driven diffs in favor of clutch-style differentials, so I wanted some feedback from you guys. I have heard only good things about the Quaife, but I wouldn't mind finding someone who uses the Quaife in competition.

The nice thing about the Quaife unit is that the warranty covers racing as well. Is your car a weekend car or a daily driver?

Well, to a die-hard racer a clutch based LSD is more ideal than a gear based one. But keep in mind that these are going to be professional racers that need every single edge over the competition.

Clutch LSDs are more expensive than a helical gear-based LSD. They aren't as strong either, the clutches also wear out, and it requires expensive trans fluid that won't eat up the clutches.
