Default D15Z1 Block + D15B7 Head = Stumped on timing belt/Cam Gear....Pictures

Guys

I have a honda in my garage I'm trying to get running. I purchased it with a hole in the original LX block. I found a good VX block from a buddy so I mated the VX (d15Z1) block with the LX (d15b7) head.

My problem is I cannot figure out if the cam gear is a different size on those motors because I cannot get a timing belt to fit.

You can see here that if I take the D15B7 timing belt, there is too much slack (notice the tensioner is bottomed out and there is a bunch of slack on the water pump side)

You can see here that if I take the D15Z1 timing belt, it is too short with the tensioner pushed all the way up.

I did not have the VX cam gear to take a measurement on to see if its shorter, and I have no idea what timing belt would work if I needed to go that route

Can anyone offer some insight?

Thanks

Andy
