96 Prelude Knock Sensor
Just bought 96 prelude H22A for my son. Check engine light is on showing 23 and 41 codes for knock sensor and O2 sensor. The knock sensor plug was broken off. I replaced both sensors and I'm still getting the same codes, even after resetting ECM (by autozone, by disconnecting battery, by pulling radio fuse). I'm suspecting the wiring to the ECU and wonder if anyone has specific instruction on how best to check the connection from the sensors all the way to the ECM. I need to fix this problem quickly as I'm running out of the 10 day period to get the new car inspected. Car has skunk2 intake manifold and catback exhaust.
how long did u leave the neg terminal off? mine came back on for the first time (like 2min) but i left it off for a few hours and everything was good
Actually I left the positive terminal off overnight. Supposedly taking out the 10 amp radio fuse for 10 seconds will also reset the ECM. The MIL stays off for about 5 seconds after I reset it.
try disconnecting the plugs on the ecu itself...if that doesn't work check continuity between the plug to the sensor and the ecu...then try a known good ecu.
