have you ever tried using complete words and periods? That may fly in other forums but not here.

Which 42r is it? And I am assuming that a j.bearing is a journal bearing?

Cortney Green aka uglyasscivic posted a dyno chart between a journal bearing GT4294 and a BB GT4294R , they made the same PEAK HP at max rpm from what I saw BUT looked to be 50+whp less from say 6000-9500 and spool looked pretty slow IMO . Maybe I can find that old chart again , I will look

I don't know if he ever ran that turbo at the track or not

why does it matter on the spool? You take off in boost, and stay in boost each gear in drag racing. If it was a street car I could see the concern.

Transient response is the problem. If you have a turbo that wont stay in boost between shifts then it will not make it down the track so hot.

The journal bearing 4294 with a 1.15 rear housing and a full race divided manifold spools quicker than a Ball bearing T4/67 .81 rear housing. This test was done on a 2 liter b series. Peak power gains were about 110hp on that same test.

The Journal bearing 4294 was about 400rpm to the right of the BB 4294 but made the same peak power.

Have you actually tested the journal bearing GT42 at the track?? How did it react? Did it fall out of boost? Some people would take that lagier spool if the transient responce isn't that bad. If it spools quicker than a T4/T67 then it seems like it wouldn't be that bad of a turbo to run on a SFWD car.
