Werid idle problem with y8 any help?
Ok, I've had this swap in for about 2 months... I switched from a chipped ecu (p28) to a virgin p28 and now the idle is all shitty. It's basicly surging. No kinks in the coolant lines. Coolant is full. IACV is working, and no vacume leak.
When I disconnect the IACV it idles nice. But when I plug it back in it surges again. Then I switched back to the chipped ecu it idles perfect, so i'm stumped. So chipped ecu no surgin idles perfect and virgin ecu surges. Motor is a d16y8.
So if anyone has any input please give it out. Letting my friend use the chipped ecu. I've searched in for "d16y8" nothing helpful. Thanks in advanced

you have already found the problem - IACV - if you have fluctuating idle, the book says you unplug the IACV and idle should drop to around 500-600 rpm and remain steady - if it does, the IACV is not working correctly - if it still fluctuates, look for vacuum leak, bad MAP or air in the cooling system
