Default ecu making my car have idle like vacuum leak

my ecu(p06) makes my engine idle like it has a vacuum leak. Meaning when the engine is warm and should idle at under 1000 rpms the idle is eratic just like a vacuum leak. I had my friends chipped p28 in and the idle went back to normal and his winter beater had the same idle with my ecu.Has this happened to someone else or what? just looking for some advice in what can be causing this problem since when i have his ecu in my car the idle has not acted like it has a vacuum leak. Really i just hate pulling up to a stop light and having people look at me like im revving my motor at them and looking like an idiot.

actually i just changed the hg in my new 94 hatch and it did that when I first started it back up. So I checked a few things (vacum, sensors and what not) and then pulled the ECU fuse under the hood and started it up and it worked fine. Still not sure why but maybe you can try that and hope it works.

no i took the P06 with the idle problem apart and found no chip in it. The car was turbo before i bought it and when the car was sold they took the turbo off and idk if it had a basemap on it or anything but there isnt a chip IMO the ecu is FUBAR
