JDM b16A OBD1 Swap questions into eg hatch...really frustrated
i swap the jdm b16a obd1 engine and tranny into my eg today.
**** happens..first..the harness connector at the driver side firewall wont reach to jdm's connector cause i guess jdm is RHD so every connector location is opposite to us eg models..
second of all..the shift linkage that i am using integra GSR 94 up and it wont fit.cause it is too long.i was like what the hell...everything goes wrong today...
i am really stressed and frustrated..
who can help me out please..i need trhe advise..

your not suppose to use a JDM engine harness for a LHD swap unless you want to extend a bunch of wires to where they need to go... use your stock D series harness and modify that abit.
you will have to use the harness that was on your previous engine and cut and lengthen the harness so it will reach. and you will need to add some pins to your ECU. and im pretty sure you can use GSR shift linkage.
sounds like you may have gotten shift linkage from a dohc del sol, it's a bit longer then the integra linkage.
sucks for you.
same thing happened to me too, it sucks having the motor in and everything in place, then you slide under the car and it ***** all over you and the rest of your day
gooddaysir.

ok i have done the wire extended conversion
and also i took the oem integra shifter off ..
and the shift linkage pops right in the place...
for those who has dc integra shift linkage with sifhter attached and want to install it onto eg hatch..u have to disconnect the shifter first..
and i am much much happier now

ya it sounds like they gave you the del sol vtec linkage its a couple inches longer than the rest of the b series linkages
I have a 1990 jdm b16a sir obdo motor i want to put it in a 92 cx eg hatch want to know what engine harness I can use and do I need to replace the obdo distributor to a obd1 distributor or can I find a jumper harness from the obdo distributor to the obd1 engine harness?
Use the CX hatch engine harness and modify it to fit the B16A. You will need an OBD-1 or OBD-2A distributor... the OBD-0 distributor will NOT work with an OBD-1 ECU. You will also need a set of OBD-1 fuel injectors.
You “can” use the 1.8 ls dist BUT you have to cut off one ear thus only giving you two mounting points and also idk if any internal bits need to change.
injectors you can use pretty much any obd1 injects, besides maybe vx, they are all 240cc.

My other question is do they make a jumper harness for the obdo distributor to the obd1 eg harness cause the computer I’m using fits the obd1 eg harness in car

OP, the problem isn't that the wiring plugs are different... the issue is the CYP sensor inside the OBD-0 distributor reports it's position 16 times per revolution... the OBD-1 distributor reports it's position 24 times per revolution. This discrepancy makes firing spark plugs in the proper time impossible. So I hope you understand now that just because it "plugs in" doesn't mean that it works.
Did I mention that you cannot use an OBD-0 VTEC distributor in an OBD-1 car unless you use an OBD-0 ECU with it (which would require a reverse OBD-1 -> OBD-0 ECU adapter harness) ???
It WILL if you swap your OBD-0 PR3 ECU for an OBD-1 P30 ECU. You would need an OBD-0 -> OBD-1 ECU adapter harness as well as the matching distributor adapter. Simply, an OBD-0 distributor MUST use an OBD-0 ECU... an OBD-1/2 distributor MUST use an OBD-1/2 ECU... as in an OBD-1 ECU will work with either an OBD-1 or OBD-2 distributor.
