Default My alignment issues worse than hoped for...

BUT not unexpected

I went to get my alignment done today after realizing my passenger rear tire had threads sticking out.

This being the first time I've gotten the alignment done, it comes to my attention that the rear camber cannot be adjusted, figures because this is what I needed.

So two months after putting new tires on along with my rims I spend $60 for alignment only to find out that I now have to purchase a camber kit and then get it realigned, on top of buying new tires. Why didn't they tell me they couldn't adjust the camber right off the bat? Hosed by a shop once again?

But atleast I will get the experience of installing a camber kit, maybe I'll drop it at the same time.

Has anybody else had problems with camber on the stock rear suspension? I find it odd that all of a sudden it's out seeing that I didn't get involved in an accident or hit anything.

But most of all this situation has left me wondering...why would they make the rear camber not adjustable from the factory...hmm I'm sure there is a reason. There always is. LOL

If you're at stock height, then either you've bent something or the alignment shop doesn't know what they are doing.

FWIW, camber is not as hard on your tires as out-of-spec toe settings.

Rear camber is not adjustable because it doesn't need to be if everything is ok.

Yeah I realise camber doesn't do a whole lot (the shop I went to has been around for a long time so I believe them)... but the wheel camber is visiable out... the thing that boggles my mind is that I don't remember hitting anything... I'm stumped as to what happened

try going to another shop, you have stock suspension, there shouldn't be any reason why your camber should be out unless you have a 500lbs system in your trunk.

maybe you bent something?

Yeah that's what I'm saying, I had to bend something because my camber is definetly out... actually visible... so I suppose we'll see

the rear camber kits are a replacement idler arm - its like three bolts and takes about 10 mins to do.

Yeah I've seen what I have to do now I'm trying to decide what brand to get. I'd like to find a whole kit (with the front included) at a decent price because I want to lower it next and I figured if I bought both kits I'm half way there. But I've heard I want to get the front upper control arm with it but I'm finding alot of the kits with just the bolts not the control arm included... hmm decisions decisions

You don't need a front camber kit, so don't waste your time/money.

The stock suspension will adjust enough when I lower it?

These cars are front struts. They don't suffer camber problems when lowered.

Ahh yeah, good call, so the front camber kit is used mostly for easy adjustments for the track??
