Default Sputtering, Misfire, Die....Wierd

I did an extensive search and found many problems it could be....but nobody seemed to list same symptoms as my situation...so here goes..
Recently i installed a turbo kit (not sure if has anything to do with anything)..anyway i then within the last week or so converted my 94 GSR to an external coil (msd blaster 2). Car cranks up fine...annd drives like a beast...after a few times of boost and car really heats up under the hood it will start misfiring and almost sound like its not getting proper spark. Also on the occasion i start the car and let it idle for about 5 mins or so then try to drive it once i start to accelerate it will just choke on itself sputter and die. Then after it dies and i try to crank it i can here it trying to turn over but..nothing, I like have to wait for 10 minutes for it to cool off or something..(no its not overheating). Im not sure what this problem could be any thoughts...?

coolant temp sensor?? I had that go bad on a d-series once and it did the exact same thing. Became quite annoying when you stop to fill up with gas and you have wait 20 min before you can start the car back up lol

Have you tried pulling the MSD stuff off and go back to stock?

Problem solved.....The external coil wire wasn't crimped properly.....so i guess it wasn't getting the proper spark to begin with.

But even though i fixed the wire i noticed when i hit full boost the car kinda falls on its face...if my spark plug gap is too wide could it cause this.....?

yes!! lol. gap them down to .028 if you are running the stock distributor. and make sure you get plugs in the 7 heat range

wow are you right......I gapped them down to .028 and sure enough start up and it was smooth as ever all the way to 8000. Although I have only 6's right now...i will definately be picking up a set of NGK 7's.. thx man.....just kinda curious....is there really that much difference between heat range 6 and 7. and is it detrimental to run 6's instead of 7's ?

it will keep them from pre detonating. they are not any more expensive, just run the right heat range. ngk bkr7e. part #6097 i believe. like 2 bucks each. i always just buy 2 boxes of ten. depending how you drive your car, expect to change them fairly often. if you get on it at least once or twice every drive, probably once a month...
