Depends on what I'm doing. I find they get eaten up more when I'm welding cast AL and **** pops into the lense and burns holes.

Usually never change them out unless I see one clogged, not to long ago I know a company online was selling a few gas lens that were bad... be careful.

if there is a couple pieces of spatter, i dont worry about it. I am not perfect though, and will occasionally stick my T and pop some crap into it. I just use discretion that's all.

Cast AL is a bitch...I usually just throw on a normal cup and collet when I'm welding cast AL.

thanks for the replies guys. i usually don't use the gas lense for heavy aluminum welding, but only because at high amps it pops the end of the illumina cup off.

Do you have the insulator between the cup and the torch? If you don't put that on it'll bust the end off of it.
