Default Before i do this...

Bought some spray paint from automotive touch up and going to paint my front lip.

It's flat black right now.

How high of grit do i wet sand up to before i paint it?

anything else i need to do before painting?

do i need to re-wet sand/buff after it dries?

if its primered wet sand with 400 for solid colors. id say get some kind of adhesion promoter like Bulldog and follow instructions, its for plastic parts that flex so paint wont crack. dont need to wet sand the base. i recommend putting some clear coat on after paint. then wetsand and buff if needed

I would have to say clear coat is a must... 320 grit is the lowest you should go when sanding, I always use a scuff pad and sanding paste when prepping plastic parts.

400 WATER SAND
320 DRY SAND

But honestly,If you're going to just do a front lip.Just scuff it with a scoth brite pad ,and be sure to clean it after ,with soap and water before painting it.and yes clear is a must.
