Default just making sure...

i have a 07 4door si. whenever i shift real hard into 2nd or 3rd it makes a huge bang sound. sounds exactly like a bad motor mount, like the motor hitting the firewall. i did some searching and they said it is the lsd doing its job. i just wanted to double check tho because it sounds horrible. is this bad?

I certainly don't hear any "banging" noise when I shift into any gear. I'd take it to a dealer and have one of them either test drive it, or go with you to show them what it sounds like. Although I'm not sure they will want to sit in the passenger seat for that...

I think i 'may' know what you are talking about. On my old tires (the HPT or Summer Tire) option wheel hop feels more like the whole front end slamming something. Being that it is possible to chirp in third, maybe this is what you are experiencing. Does it do it from 1st -> 2nd when shifting ~8000k?

That's right, I forgot people had this happen ^^

I haven't experienced it, so the "huge bang sound" seems out of place to me.

when i shift 1st to 2nd it makes the bang, then when i let off at the top of 2nd, it does it again before i hit 3rd? you still hear the wheel chip if thats any indication of anything.

im confused. are you hitting/churping 2nd and 3rd? or are you just shifting?

only time i heard a bang was in my CRX, and thats only because it hit real, real HARD.

im gunna go with....... not normal.

its a really hard chirp. i noticed it more after my Hbrace and front lower tie. since it stiffened up under there, the clutch grabbed hard and i guess tried to flex the chassis but couldnt. so its normal but not healthy.
