Can oil return bung be aluminum, or need steel??
I have a b18b that i stripped the oil drain bolt on, now it wont tighten or come out so i can change my oil. I'm gonna replace it, but need my -10an return bung. Jeg's has one (store right by my house) but it's aluminum and i believe the B18b pan is steel. Is this a problem? Do i NEED the steel one? I will be taking this to a regular car shop to have them weld this on. Thanks for the help

yea, i found a used B18a oil pan to replace it with, and Jeg's seems to only have aluminum weld on bungs. I was gonna have a car shop around here weld the fitting on the pan i'm picking up today

you know i thought about that, but i couldnt do it. Jeg's ended up having a steel one at the store and i'm having Slowmotion Motorsports weld it on. Its funny, Midas and Tuffy won't weld on a return bung because "they can't check for leaks". I've never heard of shops not being able to do simple welds.

you prolly don't want those shops doing it anyway, they don't know wtf they're doing.
