Default tach wires

when installing a aftermarket tach were do u guys hook up the wire to measure the acual rpm's? ive seen it done on the blue wire where the distributer is but is kind of a hack job. anyone do this before?

u can get the same signal wire from the ecu or behind the cluster

alright man thanks. is there any other places do hook up the wireing? what meathod of attacking the wires did u guys do/ recommend? pictures would be great.

i do all my electrical work with solder and heat shrink. but if u want u could just use a 3m t-tap and male spade connector.
