I have heard that b20 vtec will wear down your bottom end faster than an ls/block is this true I would like to go b20 vtec turbo or should I just stick with b20 turbo. Any advise will help greatly.
Most people swap the heads as to achieve better flow, and I guess for vtec too.
The bottom end isn't much for high revs, it was designed mostly for automatic cars, so getting an LS crank and some mild upgrades to the valve train would be a good idea.
It's a fantastic build motor, a lot can be done with them. But it's a trade off for all the parts you have to replace to make it reliable/semi-bulletproof.

That's right, b20 is a stroked b18b.

Dood in for the save once again.
To the OP I would recomend just replacing the B20 rod bolts with ARP bolts and maybe a vtec oil pump, if you go with a vtec head. Once you go tubro you HAVE to tune or the motor wont even make it down the block. Detonation is killer of B20s.

as far a reliability either can be good. friend of mine has a boosted b20 thats just nasty and another friend of mine had a built b20-t that was nasty as well. so as far as b20-t reliabilty im the 1st to vouch. havent seen much on b20/vtec just read alot and i see a lotta talk about the sleeves. so def look into that and just do some more research on HT on b20/vtec setups. Good luck!
