resetting ecu...
i am throwing code 22 if i am reading it right. there are 2 long blinks and 2 short blings. do long blinks represent 10 and short 1. it has to do with vtec. i think i got all the wiring right. but i need to reset the ecu to see...i read in the manual that i need to unplug the hazard fuse for 10 sec. do i do this with the the battery unplugged or plugged in. and do i do it with the car running or shut off. is this the way to restart the ecu.
it is the hazard fuse though. that i disconnect...
also do u have any idea about radiator fans. mine is not working now that i did the swap. i am missing a plug somewherr. i think.

Is it the same for resetting the ecu on a 89 civic? if so, where can i find the hazard fuse. The previous owner lost the manual and therefore i don't know where the hazard fuse is. I imagine its in the fuse box under the hood cause the fuse inside were labeled. Thanks again.
Three ways to reset the ecu.
1. Pull the hazard fuse
2. Unplug the ecu
3. Disconnect the battery
If you undo any of these leave them undone for 15-30 seconds to reset the ecu.

**** i have a prob now., yesterday my fans were not working. i found out it was the fan relay switch. i disconnected the hazard fuse and the ecu fuse. plugged them back in. and today tried to start it and it wont start. 2 problems. it cranks but it does not start or sound like its gonna start. and also there is no blinking light on the ecu anymore. either i fixed the problem and there are no codes or i might of fucked up the ecu. how do u tell if it is shorted out...please help...car is not starting..

Does the ECU blink once when you turn the car on?
Check your fuses again, and check the alternater fuse under the dash. That can be why its not starting now. ANd if your fan relay is bad, just wire it up, where it comes on whenever the car starts..
ok guys, I don't see this fuse labeled ECU or hazard... none of my stuff is labeled at all, anyone wanna help me out here?
and I am checking under the hood, not inside the car

I just threw code 22 a couple minutes ago, it's the VTEC oil pressure switch, if you have a VAFC that could do it, at least that is what's causing mine. I have to still hook up the final wire to fix it.
im not too sure what code im throwin, but my gas milage is terrible after I redid my idle and stuff, want to reset it and see if it fixes it... someone please help me find the ecu or hazard fuse
ok that is the one I pulled, didn't work? i dunno, I just tried the unplugging the negative battery terminal for a couple mins - that's waht the manual says to do...

Can anyone tell me what the small white plug (with 4 wires I think) is? Its the one located inside the fuse box next to the main batt fuse all the way to the right of that pic. I had a small mishap with my car in whitch my alternator decided it didnt feel like being regulated anymore and it should throw out 20volts for fun. It cracked my batt, fried the comp, and screwed up a bunch of sensors. Thats all i've found so far! Anyways... I finally got my car to crank but not start after a few hours. every time i turned the key on fuse 14 (alternator and solenoid valve) under the dash would blow. I got so frustrated I just shoved a jumper wire in the fuse slot and the car started. After running for a few seconds smoke started puking out of the fuse block under the hood. It was coming out around that small white plug, So i disconnected it! lol. With it unpluged and a 10A fuse back in #14 slot the car started and ran. Its been a couple weeks driving around with that plug off and asside from it seemingly needing a throttle position sensor, the cars running fine.
Long story short, I cant figure out what the hell that plug is for!
Any help will be greatly appreciated, Thanx
