i burned about a little less than a quart in 4000 miles, and I hit vtec like 5-10 times a day. Just check every once and awhile.

I heard from other threads burning oil within a certain limit is acceptable, and normal. Not exactly sure what was that limit though.

any car that hits high RPM's will burn oil faster.
Having VTEC doesn't make it any worse......

dont worry about it. just check your oil like you would any other car being drivin hard.

Kinda. The Oil Life percentage is what the ECU thinks the oil life is actually at according to engine cycles and other variables I can't remember. It's not taking a sample of your oil, or guessing how much oil you have by weight, just that it is guessing that you need to change it once it gets close to 0% life.

Check your oil every time you get gas. Seriously get in the habit of it. Your car won't explode if you forget, but do check it.

And yes, riding the engine hard burns oil in our lovely K20. But you shouldn't have to add any oil before the next change. If you do, have them check for leaks, and if you don't have any, chalk it up to your engine burning more than normal and move on.
