need help fast!!!
I need some help. I just recently put on an oem style moroso oil pan for my B20 vtec swap and for some reason the gasket keeps ripping. I've replaced it twice already and torqued down the bolts around ~8-10 ft-lbs and yet it still keeps expanding and ripping where the three holes are. Don't know what to do anymore need help.
don't use a torque wrench . use a torque pattern when putting it together and so on but those gaskets ooz out with pressure. get it snug , but don't over do it .
around the whole thing or just a slight amount in the corners? Cause I had a shop put on the oil pan originally cause I had them replace the oil pump and they used honda bond on the gasket and that ripped, but it seemed they put too much on.

Yep, use some honda bond which is grey permatex. Criss cross torque pattern is best as crashtech said, but if your using a torque wrench is a good thing, just make sure your torquing it down in the proper sequence and you should be good.
What kind of gasket are you using? If not a Honda Gasket, get one IMHO.

so just pust some honda bond around the whole gasket then? On what though? Literally on top of the gasket or put it on the oil pan and then set the gasket on top of it?
