Default Running wire and RCA for AMPs

Hey!

I have installed many decks before but I have never installed cable under the carpet in a car. I would like to do this on my Civic is there any advice or are there any sites which describe this in detail?

Thank you for your advice

Not that I have ever heard of (your above question). You should feel lucky! Running wire and hiding **** in Civics is the easiet thing. Just be careful when removing any interior panels that you do not break too many of the clips. It is unavoidable to not break any it seems, but be a little tentative in this area. Aside from that you may benifit from using a straightened out clothes hanger as a "snake". Do yourself a favor and take out everything that you even think will pose a difficulty. Having the inerior near stripped from the get go makes for a much faster and easier install.

yeah just be careful when taking out your panels and run the power wires away from the speaker wires.. how I have my car run is like this.. power wires go on the passenger side from the battery past firewall into the cabin, then under the panel at the door sill, into the rear quarter panel and finally out to the trunk/rear seats where my amps are mounted.. in the center console/tranny tunnel is where I run my AI-net (sound and cd changer control) wire to the DSP/EQ and cd changer (these would be where you run your RCA's), and I run my speaker wire to the front speakers down the driver side from the amp for the component system in front... theres just a bunch of clips that hold the paneling...

One more question...you mentioned running both speaker(r&l)wires down the left side(or together on one side). A installer I talked to told me that you had to have an even amount of wire on both channels of the amp for proper sound...is that true?

I tend to match them up, but think about the speed that electrons move across a copper conductor...if you think that your brain is quick enough to discern the difference between a speaker wire that is 10 feet long and one that is 12 feet long, you have bionic ears.

Personally, I run the power down the passenger side with the amp remote, and the speaker and RCA's up the middle. The only one you should isolate for extra piece of mind, is the power wire. Speaker wires will do nothing to the RCA cables.
