Has anyone ever used the spoon stroker kit? Just wondering if its worth the money?

Definitely not worth it.

 

Its basicly all ITR internals balanced out by spoon.

It is only for the b16b. The CTR engine uses a GSR block, b16 crank with longer rods. This cannot be used in a b16a.

Correct, a destroked b18. Not a magic b16a.

spoon stroker kits are made for B16B motors. price of a B16B+spoon stoker kit+labor you might as well buy a 98 spec JDM ITR swap.

We're considered retarded for making small displacement cars fast in the first place, why would you shoot yourself in the foot by using the smallest displacement dohc vtec there is.

More displacement = more torque, more power, more potential, and more gains per liter for every mod you do.

Doesn't h swap have terrible oversteer b/c of the position of the mount.

But what about the b16a, same hp as b18c5 less displacement, granted that b16a is a little different from normal b16 right. enlighten me if im wrong.

no the b16a does not have the same HP as the b18c5. the b18c5 is an itr motor (200hp).

the b16a does have the same hp output as the b18c1, which is a gsr (170hp). the b18c1 has a higher torque outout over the b16 due to it's discplacment.

maybe because they are alittle cheaper than the 1.8. the b16 is not a bad platform to start out with. it's only problem is it's alittle shorter than it's brothers, but who cares, it's a great vtec motor to turbo!

the b18 is better than the b16 of coarse. all i stated was it wasn't a bad platform as many people claim it to be.

and i don't think a stoker kit is worth it, there are other ways to reach higher HP, without having to re-stroke a b16.

I would think the difference in frequency is small enough that increasing the air moved per instance would make a more positive gain.
