Default helpful ideas for a b16a problem child broke block

I will try and use proper english. My problem is my block is done. I need to rebuild it. The crankshaft is no good because it has already been rebuilt it is already .10 over and my mechanic advises not to go .20 over. I think I got that right. Anyways the reason my block is blown is because my head needs a valve job because someone before me had nitrous. Because of this it has been burning oil. It is my fault I did not check the oil as often. Eventually it got low and i developed a minor rod knock. Because Honda engines are so balanced a little rod knock over time will own you. Basically this is what happened I didnt throw a rod, but I stretched it. Additionally I chewed most of the bearings up too.

Now for the questions. I am unsure if I want to keep the car or sell it. What would be the best recommendations for both. I was thinking of just fixing the block and selling it. But Ive invested money and my own flesh and blood in that car. So part of me doesnt want to give it up quite yet. I have a decent amount of quality N/A parts and was at around 150whp 115 torque.

I like N/A but I know its only a 1.6 liter. My transmission is good so maybe a b18c5 swap. I just don't trust many vendors and I need this asap.

Another note. I need to keep this under 4k including labor. I appreciate the advice. I may get flamed for not doing the work myself, but I am not a mechanic nor do I have the tools. I can do minor things like installing bolt ons but thats as far as I like to go. Thanks again.

I wasn't sure what I was in store for when I clicked the thread name...
helpful ideas for a b16a problem child - broke block or
helpful ideas for a b16a problem - child broke block like some kid working on your engine totally screwed it up, lol.

Anyway, if you need a new motor installed then 4k is not going to cut it with a c5. The price of the swap alone, if legit, will probably run you 4k or more. You could consider a b18c1 but prices of those swaps are still highly inflated and I think with labor you will probably still be more than your limit. In terms of your budget and conditions, I would say you would have to stick with a B16 and have some money left over.

LOL I honestly had a vision of a long block on an engine stand, that got somehow knocked over by a toddler and cracked!

all i need is the engine only. how hard / expensive is it to swap a b16 for a b18c5 if i dont need the b16 tranny. I have a quiafe the only thing i really would want is the type r final drive but im satisfied with my tranny.

i would say go for a gsr motor because its cheaper and has just as much potential as a b18c5. youd have to run the gsr ecu though which wont be too much. find a motor and ecu for like $2500 max and you can use that $1500 for the labor of installation. the costs of everything will vary depending on where you live.
