Default Pulled the head and this is what I see *pics*

Well this is the story I was accelerating at the top of 2nd gear when I hear a horrible grinding sound and loss of power. The sound was really loud and sounded like stuff was shattering I pulled over immediately and the sound continued for a few seconds then it just died. So I try to start it again like a dumbass and the sound was there but it wouldnt start. I pop the hood and wow My timing belt is SOOO LOOSE and half way off. So I said crap I must have bent my valves. so this morning I pulled the head and there appears to be no damage??? WTF??? so what was that sound ?

The valves seem to be ok, tell me what you think.

Also Since I suck at having a honda what should I do, This is a DPFI dx motor, I was thinking of sending out the head getting it milled (im pretty sure its warped cause my oil looked like milk when i pulled the valve cover) throwing a cam in and switching over to mpfi get a header, and later on boost it. or some sort of swap. In a sense I would like to know what would be more cheap and most powerful.

Salvage this DX 1.5 or get some type of swap.

Oh and in case you were wondering why the tbelt just came loose was because the I didn't tighten the tensioner so it probably jumped a zillion teeth.

Yeah and now that I think about it when it happened there was oil all over the belt. And It drips oil from the crank area.

maybe it was just the belt flopping around in there? slapping the timing covers.

p.s. if you want power, start by tossing that head (& block if it were me) in the nearest dumpster....regardless of it's condition.

Nah it sounded like metal on metal.

And about the power, my original plan was to find an b18 ls, but im broke I cant afford mounts, linkage, engine itself. And wiring isn't my favorite thing to do.

So me with my broke situation I was thinking a d16 from an si then boost that later. Or salvage this d15 switch to mpfi throw a cam in, clean and mill the head. and boost that later on.

Throw it away!...just kidding. Actually, if you're wanting to boost it I'd start with a healthier motor. I'd try to pick up an A6 or a Z6.

Your right Im gonna start searching for a new motor. But I don't just want to give up. Im trying to learn some stuff, so I might give this one a rebuild too.

Pretty much the same thing happened to me on my SOHC ZC...heard a whirring noise for the longest time like a bearing was going out, eventually started losing power driving home from SoCal to NorCal...pulled off at the exit to my house and killed the car half a block from my house. Defective OEM water pump was grinding metal on metal because the bearing went out.

I lucked out that the car made the 5 hour drive back home only to die on the street to my house .

haha I know what you mean, Thats how it sounded when I got the car, I changed the water pump and it went away. But because i didn't tighten the tensioner the belt jumped off and this happened.

The sound I heard was more like a loud crackling noise.

an a6 in a crx is fun, even if it's a stock Si. Do yourself a favor and get the A6 trans too.
