im using 100% argon, you can here it coming from the gun and the regulator reads pressure. also i have tried using several different pieces of metal to make sure it wasnt the metal itself (everything from aluminum for a tent, to intercooler charge pipes with no avail.

What is your regulator set at? gas flow is pretty important with Alum.

How clean is the material your working with? Previously coated or oily will give you trouble without proper cleaning.

How are you shaping/sharpening the tungsten?

and what filler are you using?

I have had best luck with 5356 1/16th" filler, Gas lense, and obviously using clean pieces to work with, as well as clean filler, properly "balled" tungsten and a pretty healthy argon flow.

What alloy of aluminum is it? Theres some alloys that arent readily weldable.

make sure you have it set to AC current. i just bought a precision TIG 225 and it works wonderfully! its the same machine but has a higher amprage capability.

-the gas is set at 15 cfh

-im using 3/32 aluminum filler

-im sharpening the tungsten with a grinding wheel making sure to grind vertical

all the metal im using has been cleaned and wiped down with alchohol

, but i dunno its weird i never even get a chance to even start welding te second i touch the pedal, it burns up the metal and the tungsten regardless of pedal pressure

you sure you dont have a leak somewhere on the regulator/hose connections or torch end? Double check that.

Make sure you have the machine on AC.

And try another piece of clean Alum some grade of Alum are just not weldable, or extremely difficult to weld.

to make things simple, jsut turn the machine on Auto, pulser off, and just set the amperage to 90 or so, and pedal up.
