How much did you pay?
As far as manifold, I would just get a cast manifold if you are on a tight budget, usually you can get them for around $100.

im a total turbo noob. i wouldnt know how to check diaphram. i dont have my alan wrenches with me but i will open it tommorow. the turbo spins freely as far as i can check. i been doing a lot of reading up on turbos this past week but i have lots to learn. thanks for educating me. is this a better turbo than a dsm turbo?
Yes, but when you take it off look for cracks and ripps. Also grab the screw on the end of the turbine and kind of lightly pull it up and down and push and pull it. it will have some movement(even new ones do) but it should feel like it has miles of room in there. Also what are you using to tune, and are there any cracks in that mani?
