Manual swap parts list (help please)
Im trying to do the 5 speed in my car (98 civic) and ive looked around for guides and everything. i found a good guide https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1337459 and they say i need things like new ecu, starter and they say i can use auto axles. then i go to the shop where i want it done, and they tell me i dont need ecu, starter, but i need new axles. my parts list so far is: tranny, clutch flywheel, mounts, pedals, shift linkage, clutch master/slaver cylinder, clutch line, and axles.
If anyone has done this conversion or knows something about it, can i get some feedback. thanks

Youll need a 5speed ECU, Unless you can covert your auto one to manual.
ECU's are relatively cheap, i got mine for 60 shipped.
The hardest part are the pedals.
and yes you can use your auto axles.

Since this forum covers 92-00, you need to specify the year of your car. The parts list requirements will be different from the 92-95, and the 96-00. The link you used is for a EK, just need to clearify that yours is as well, a 96-00.

Listen to what the original thread says... Luserkid knows his stuff. I cant see you running an auto ECU on a manual car.
Go back to the shop and kick the person in the nuts... then ask them how the hell you are supposed to use an auto ecu on a manual car.

I am doing this swap later next week on my 99, and this is what you're going to need..
Trans with clutch fork and TO bearing
complete shift linkage WITH bitch pin AND metal clip
Shift ****
Flywheel/Pressure plate/clutch
flywheel bolts
pressure plate bolts
slave cylinder with its two bolts
Hydraulic lines (there are two that fit together to make the entire line from clutch resevoir to slave cylinder)
master cylinder with two 10 mm bolts
Reverse light sensor
Manual Vss
Manual starter with long bolt and short bolt
Top transmission bracket with two nuts and screw(part that goes on trans)
Torque mount with 3 long bolts to hold them on..
axles ( you can use the auto ones)
Pedals with all sensors and pins (you can reuse the gas pedal)
some type of wind plate (you're going to have to cut a hole, and you're going to need a plate to go over where the auto cable went)
2-3 quarts of MTF
Flywheel cover with bolts
If your car has a y7 in it, then that is all. If it has a y8, then you're going to need a new intake manifold or modify the one you have.
and for the record, you can use an auto ecu, you just have to modify it. Otherwise, its going to be in limp mode (but it actually is still drivable btw)..

Make that 3 -- two hard lines and a soft line in between.
Reverse light sensor should already be on the 5 spd tranny.
D series tranny = 1.9 qts MTF if empty, FYI

Yeah, I was thinking 3, but typed 2
and the reverse sensor isnt always on the trans.. it SHOULD be, but isnt always on it
..and I said 2-3 because it takes 2, but I always keep 1 extra in the trunk
