Auto-manual conv. question (axles?)
going to do this in the summer just getting everything ready. The axles? do i have to use ones from the tranny im putting in. It's going to be a y8 tranny on a y7 block. do i use the ones i already have or do i have to buy manual tranny axles? since im getting a y8 tranny on a y7 block do i use a dx manual ecu or a EX manual ecu.

Re: Auto-manual conv. question (sleepyhamsterlx)
i was doing an auto to manual conversion on my d-series. and i found that the axles were exactly the same. so i think the might be the same on the auto and manual. this was on a 92-95 civic.

Re: Auto-manual conv. question (sleepyhamsterlx)
I've done an auto to manual conversion to a 1996-2000 Civic before. I believe the part numbers are the same for both the manual and automatic axles for the LX. It seems as though the EX has different part numbers for axles, but you should still be able to use your DX axles. As for the ecu, if you aren't swapping a head onto your Civic and just doing the transmission swap itself, a manual version of the ecu for your corresponding engine should suffice.
