Default Eg and Ek

this is a really dumb question but i have to know. i just got my first honda civic hatch.
I was wondering what is an eg and ek and other names like that?

96-00 USDM civic hatches are ej6's

96-00 JDM hatches are ek
92-95 JDM hatches are eg

I have a 92 civic hatchback dx. it has a d15b7 and it says honda of canada on a sticker next to the radiator.

Welcome to the EH2 club, my friend. There are lots of us.

Unfortunately, many of us are in denial, and try to call our DX hatches EG6's

Don't be one of them. However, when referring to the 92-95 hatches in general, it is common to label them eg's. This, in my opinion, is acceptable.

yeah it's a regular eh2, nothing special (no offense).
when ever you want to do a post, just say what year/model/trim you have, that will be the best, avoid confusion (atleast for the noobs anyway).

hey i have another question in this it says that an EH2 has a D15Z, but my engine is a D15B7 so does that mean that my motor has been swaped?

Some of the info is wrong, though I'm trying to fix everything that is. Most of the JDM information is correct though, since I got that from a Honda program.

Yeah, don't worry. To confirm, the D15B7 is the DX EH2 engine. Don't have it anymore, but I used to when it was stock.

Yeah, it seems some chassis have both engines under the same chassis code (D15B/D15Z cars using the same chassis code I mean).
