Default need some help for my EVO friend please

so my friends father backed into his evo with a truck and now it wont start. the car was in 3rd gear in his drive way parked up. he has a twin disk clutch so the car probably just slid or made a small hop back. funny thing was, when he came in, he noticed the ecu was reset due to him having to put the security code in the stereo. the car wont start. our assumptions are that the timing belt skipped a couple teeth. noticed also that the walboro sounded like it wasnt priming...either that or he has too much sound deadening material. nothing in the engine was hit. everythings flawless. grounds are all accounted for. the car itself was running strong before he woke up to it being crunched.

HELP!!

Assuming stock (or better) tires, I'd guess it wouldn't skid, rather turn the motor over slowly - backwards if I'm reading this correctly. Motors don't need much torque to turn, and 3rd gear means it was turned that much slower. Usually its not recommended to move the motor in reverse more than a few degrees, mainly because it basicly sucks oil from the bearing journals, leaving almost zero lube. I would not expect the t-belt to slip, as it would take less torque to move the cams in reverse since cam profiles for high-lift, short duration usually have a steep rampup but a gradual rampdown (IIRC 'vtec-killers' make this obvious).

Sounds like some electrical do-dad required for one of the bazilion obd2 functions was broken somehow. Even with an AWD monster, it was never meant to accelerate to 10mph instantly. But then again solid-state devices can tollerate many G's while not inopperation, so I'm not sure.

Something electrical got shorted or parted. I'd look at the wiring around where it got hit for a pinched or cut/broken wire.

im not sure if the EVO has this feature but on the older mustang, when theres damage to the rear, theres a cut off switch for the gas tank so it doesnt blow up. all you have to do is just turn it back on.

engine was spotless. damage was only on the hood and the hood supports. radiator support and front bumper all intact. no engine damage at all.
