Like I said in the title my car feels like it has a hesitation up to 4-5K RPM. It is a 03 LX and when I get 4-5K RPM if feel like it hits Vtec. I'm just wondering if anyone has any idea what might cause this. The car has around 50000 miles on it. Any advise would help. Thanks

 

an LX doesn't have vtec.... i think most d17s feel like this in the high rpms; at least i do

 

I know it doesn't have Vtec. And as for them all feeling like this it just starting about a month ago.

 

i think your referring to the power band? correct me if im wrong. no vtec in lx.

OK guys. I know the car does not have Vtec as I have said before. What I was saying is that when it got to 4-5K RPM it felt the same way as when Vtec engaged in my old 94 civic SI. I haven't had time to check anything yet but I am just wondering if anyone could give me a good place to start. It has a CAI but other than that it's stock.

I change the oil every 4000KM. When are the spark plugs suppose to be changed and has anyone had a problem with the coils honda uses on these civics?

 

So last night I changed the oil, plugs, and cleaned the air filter and the hesitation seems to be gone.

Thanks. Do you know of a good brand of oil to use to stop this from happening? I had less than 5000KM on that oil and it's been doing that for like a month.

 

I would say just use OEM Honda oil from your dealership.

 

Check listed items. spark plugs, ignition coils, TDC sensor, oil, tranny fluid.
