What you have is Keyless Entry, I have the same thing on my 05, It's just the locks and panic. You can install an aftermarket alarm without it interfering with it, But unfortunately you should check in the audio, security and video forum. You will be able to get better answers there.

on my car, i guess i opted for "security," as when the doors are locked and the windows are down, if the car's door lock is opened manually and the door is then opened, the car beeps... and the ignition switch is disabled

Is it not an option there? UK cars have a Honda alarm fitted. Or at least mine does.

alarm is another option that can be added to the keyless remote functionally.

Honestly, i dont think an alarm is necessary because us civic has transponder key.
unless you have expensive radio and other equipment in your car..

I still haven't figured that one out! Try this one on for size? Every time I 'unlock' my car via remote? it rearms itself within a minute!? Puzzled.

The beeping when you push your lock button twice in most cases is not an alarm. It is simply an audible confirmation that your doors are in fact locked.

Also, when unlocking the door with the button, the car will re-lock itself after a certain period of time if you have not opened a door, mostly as a 'just in case you forgot' feature.

I have seen some civics with another sticker above the transponder key sticker denoting an alarm. As for the car beeping when you unlock the door manually and open it with the windows down, I'm pretty sure that only happens if you have power windows, because it doesn't happen on mine, with power locks and manual windows. On my friend's car, it happens, but if you shake the car really hard, or try to pull on the door handles, nothing happens like it would with a real alarm system.

when my windows are up and everythings closed and i unlock it, when i open the door it beeps for a second and then stops, not when my windows are down
