there are alot of people on here that will tell you to get autozone rotors and a sick set of pads. I don't know what your car is used for, show/race, but i would not cheep out on the brakes. If you are making crazy HP, i would upgrade to a big brake kit, like 2K$. I'm not, my motor is still stock and i wanted to take my car on the track and have good luck. I got brembo sloted OEM repacement rotors and Hawk HPS pads and SS lines with motul 600 brake fluid. It worked out great, only problem is that i have white rims and there is crazy brake dust. Next season i may get a more agressive pad for the front to help the car rotate a littel more during auto-x's. Hope this helps.

with basic hand tools and some research you could prolly do your own brakes. If it's just a daily then you could do OEM replacements.
I've heard good things about AXXIS Metal Master pads. If you want you could do some stainless steel lines. Brembo blank rotors. Do a good brake bleed with some new fluid. Should really be all you'd need for daily driving duty.

if you don't really plan on tracking or auto crossing the car, just stick with OEM. If you want a small upgrade, get the brembo blank rotors.

I would have to agree, but instead of upgrading the rotors i would just upgrade the pads.

you want to paint the brake pads or the calipers? the pads i dont see the point because they arent too noticable and especially dont paint the area where it comes into contact with the rotor.

i think its the calipers that you want to paint. And probably not that much between brembo blanks and oem. I think the brembos are probably built to a little higher standard, but nothing really noticeable. I got my brake pads at http://www.tirerack.com and that is where you will notice a difference. Stainless Steel lines are also a cheep mod you can do to make your peadle a little stiffer, and repalce the fluid like someone said in here. But again, if it's just a daily driver, why mess with anything. Just stay OEM!

How would brembo blanks differ from oem blank rotors in terms of performance? or would there even be a difference?

It would probably have to do something with the material that they are made out of. I'm guessing, and this is just a guess, that the brembos could handle heat a little better.

I just bought a new set of brembo sport slot rotors. I still have the stock pads. I found that the brembos just seem like they just work better, even with the stock pads. I am sure that they would be a lot better with some hawk pads but I do not need new pads.

I think you would like the brembos. Here is where I bought mine. They weren't too expensive.
