Default Launching: Pre-stage or Stage 2 step

When you guys are in the process of staging, when do you "activate" the 2 step, at pre-stage or stage? I notice a lot of drivers don't do it until fully staged but I would think by that time it would be too late to build boost on a pro tree. On an ameteur tree there's enough time to fully stage and then 2 step.

most cars roll into the second beam, grab the staging break, then slam it WOT on the 2 step..

On a pro tree there is 2 seconds between the 2nd beam and the ambers which should be enough time to build boost.

like others have stated, I'm up in the RPMs(maybe 4-5000) until both drivers have staged, then I get on the 2 step. Anything longer and I'm afraid.
