Default Can rubber connectors be used?

Silicone couplers are pretty expensive everywhere I've found them, so I'm wondering if I could just go with rubber connectors from somewhere such as home depot. I won't be running really high boost... I'll definitely never exceed 15psi anytime soon. Will they break or melt? Will they be fine as long as I'm using t-bolts? I'm new to the world of forced induction so be easy on me...

The ones from home depot will baloon and melt. I've always used heavy duty radiator hose like for big trucks and I actually prefer them over silicone now. Check out mcmaster.com I know I've ordered some there you can get it by the foot and cut it. You can also look for an industrial hose store by you. A place by me even had 3" in stock for my turbo inlet.

I use home cheapo rubber couplers for my pressure tester, they baloon out an inch larger at 20psi, and w/o beading the pipes, they blow off even with t-bolt clamps anything over 15psi. This is also at room temp under ideal conditions, so they really aren't good for anything beyond 10psi IMO.

Heavy duty radiator hose... that sounds promising. There is some sort of a hose store in the area so I'll check it out. Thanks.

Just looked on mcmaster.com real quick. PN 5727K31 LOOKS like the stuff I used so check that out cause I know they have a million different hoses. Costs about $16 per foot, which will get you about 4 connectors.
