Ek And EJ
Okay, to clarify, EK is a term used to mean any '96-'00 Civic or sometimes just to mean any '96-'00 Civic hatch.
True EK chassis cars are only '96-'00 Civic hatches and sedans though. Though no EK chassis car was ever sold in the US, most other countries with 6G Civics had EK chassis instead. The 6G Civic coupes which were sold overseas (even in Japan) are still EJ chassis though.
Here are the USDM 6G Civic chassis codes:
EJ6 (D16Y7 - SOHC non-VTEC)
'96-'00 Civic CX hatch
'96-'00 Civic DX coupe
'96-'00 Civic DX hatch
'96-'00 Civic DX sedan
'96-'00 Civic DX-V/VP/SE sedan
'96-'00 Civic LX sedan
EJ7 (D16Y5 - SOHC VTEC-E)
'96-'00 Civic HX coupe
EJ8 (D16Y8 - SOHC VTEC)
'96-'00 Civic EX coupe
'96-'00 Civic EX sedan
EM1 (B16A2 - DOHC VTEC)
'99-'00 Civic Si coupe
EN1 (D16B5 - SOHC VTEC CNG)
'98-'00 Civic GX sedan
Check the chassis link in my sig for more info.
