Default Head

If i were to replace the valves, springs, and retainers, and cams...will i need to take the head completely off??The motor is a b16.

To replace the valves will require the head to come off, and if this is the case, the rest of the valvetrain can be installed minus the cams. You can install springs and retainers in car, just make sure you do it right, or you might find some retainers in your oil pan.

How are you going to lap the valves to make sure they match the seats?

Take the head off and take it to a shop and have it done correctly, the first time.
