Is this intake related device needed? b16a1

Default Is this intake related device needed? b16a1

am installing an ITR intake on my b16a1 ef8
and have this device on the firewall



there isnt really any vacuum lines to the intake in which i can connect it to..

what does it do.. do i need it.. how can i rig it to the itr mani?

its part of the map sensor yes you need it.

I believe that is the purge control solenoid. Its not needed but it's for emissions.

where does the wiring go?
anything to do with ecu?

i think it puts gas fumes from your fuel tank into your manifold for emissions purposes, and the wiring you can just un-plug. it will not hurt or improve performance in anyway.

everyone is incorrect
it is between the FPR and the manifold

it is a solenoid for the FPR

anyone know wtf it does and if it is needed

You don't need it.

All you need is a vacuum line for the MAP sensor, and a connection from the back of the manifold to the FPR.

well i have a new TB with a map on it
so the map on the firewall is going too


i will just connect the FPR to the usual spot like on DC2R's etc


so what specifically does it do? anyone know?
