i have a b18 throttle body on my d16z6 and im wondering if it needs a TB with a fitv to idle correctly? it idles decent but it goes up and down from like 0-800rpm only when it heats up though. cold start it will idle like 1200 till it gets warm and drops

also it dies at stop lights.. then i restart it and it idles ok till i stop again
i replaced the intake manifold gasket with a new plastic one
new t/b gasket
new vacuum hoses
checked for leaks everywhere but cant find a thing.. its bugging me cause it dies when i stop anyone know about the FITV? or anything else that would help

 

no it does not need the fitv.

i have mine blocked off

your idle issue is being cause by something else

 

could it be..

brake booster? or check valve on boost vacuum line?
pcv valve?
timing off?
