I get this wierd band/thud noise intermittently from the passenger side when I start to brake hard or am making a sharp corner. Originaly I thought it might be my motor mounts but I have since replaced those with innovative race mounts. Could this be a ball joint or maybe a strut? Whats your thoughts?

Yes still the stock suspension. It has been happening for the lasst 1500 miles.

 

apparently there is a service bulletin about this. Something to do with faulty shock seals.

 

Check the nut on the top of the middle of the shock, I had the same noise, tightened it, all gone.

 

Did you try tightening the nut on top of the strut? Or did you get more info on the Service Bulletin?

My S is making a banging noise under braking. Just one "BANG" as I apply the brakes. Sounds like metal on metal. If I drive slowly and apply the brakes, it's like a metal on metal click.

I've been at a loss so far. I have 115K miles on the car. Stock suspension, with brake pad upgrades.
