A chick I know had a 94 Accord with a h22 swap. When she had it swapped the h22 header was longer then the accord header and she had to ditch the cat to have a custom test pipe made. She just ordered a new exhaust and wants to run a cat again. What header does she need to get to have it all line up legit so she can run a cat and not cut her new Greddy SP2? She wants everyting to bolt up and not be cut and welded. Would a Euro R header help?
these are from 2 of the FAQ links on the swap.
1
"Exhaust: The combination of the Prelude header and the Accord cat/exhaust did not work. The Accord cat is too long. If the engine did not have a cat attatched, use an H22A cat"
2
"The exhaust must be reduced in length and it is reccomended that you get a cat to match the year
header you have. (ex. if you have a 94 h22 header get a 94 prelude cat, etc) the 97+
header is different and the cat isnt the same."
personally i have never done the swap so i dont know what works. the first one sounds like its saying if she got the prelude cat then her accord exhaust would fit. the second one saying "reduced in length" makes me think she might have to hack it. no real definite answer in there though...
