2004 Civic Brake Problems?
Hey guys, when I drive my g/f's 2004 civic coupe EX there is squealing coming from her front rotor/brake area. The noise is consistently there while the vehicle is in motion (while in reverse, going 8 mph or 60mph) but it's not caused by pressing on the brakes themselves. Could this be brake problems, or what? any suggestions would be great

Wow, that would probably be her problem.

Hi i am a NOOB in here and i wanna chime in my 2 cents if you dont mind...i have the same problem w/ my 01 civic and i think it is the pads and they are wearing thin and needs to be replaced because once they are gone then that will be another grip of cash needed to be spent

Yes. Most every brake pad out there has a metal "feeler" to tell you when the pads are becoming too worn. Also, there's a metal backer that is behind the pad, giving the pad material something to mount to. Now, if her pads are not replaced, I can almost guarantee that not only are the pads gone, but she may be facing a rotor replacement as well.
