Swap Questions
I searched and found nothing. IM getting an almost complete ZC longblock for $140. I wanna put it into my hatch but i read the FAQ's for swaps and says its semi difficult. I know someone hs done it, whats hard and what needs to be converted? Do i have to go OBD0 or can the motor go OBD1? Also whats the difficulty of swapping the tranny from hydro to cale and vice versa? Im not getting the ZC tranny i am going to be using an EX tranny. Help would be nice. thanks!

Ive never done this particular swap, or ran into anyone with it in an OBD-1 car...
However, looking onto other obd-0 motors in obd-1 cars, I think you can get away with it as long as you use an obd-1 non-vtec distributor, and obd-1 injectors. You might have to swap some sensors off of the zc motor with ones off of an obd-1 motor. And for the ECU, I would say an integra LS obd-1 might work for it.
Im just kind of making guesses as to how this would work. I dont know for sure if these will work, so dont quote me on anything, but it might get you started in the right direction as to what kind of things you should look into for doing the swap.

Which ZC engine? I've done 2 sohc and one dohc zc engines each in a different chassis. Each one was a simple swap, only the dohc was non OBD and the others were OBD-I. I just put a ZC vtec in my hatch last weekend by myself, used an ex/si transmission. The only thing I can see being different would be the clutch and flywheel if you are using the dohc since I think they were cable and your car being hyrdraulic. Lets get some more info on the exact engine though and you can get some more help.

The ZC vtec is a complete engine, head and block. It was stamped just like the dohc but is a sohc. It is almost identical to the D16Z6. For some reason Honda used the ZC code on completey different engines. Anyway, is the motor the OBD-I version? If so i would think the trans should bolt up no problem. The dohc I installed was in a CRX and motor was non-OBD so it was direct swap, also I think they use a half-shaft on the dohc which would mean you would need different axles unless you already have them.
