Was going D series turbo, but found an awesome deal and have a few questions about H series...
I had it all set up to dive into a D series project when my buddy called me up that I havent spoken to in over a year. He rolled his Jdm H22A powered EG when he was drunk one night 2 years back and just called me to see if I knew anyone that wanted it.. The body is no good but it has full interior minus seats, Hasport wiring, Hasport mounts, Tokico 5 way adjustable struts with RS*R springs, full apexi exhaust, and a wet nitrous kit that was installed and used one time. ACT clutch and flywheel also. He told me 1700 bucks come get it. I just happen to have a 93 SI that everything would go into. This seams like a good deal, everything still runs fine, I remember it was a solid setup.
Anyway, my reason for making this post is to ask what this engine would be like in my EG SI? Is it worth it to swap everything over to my car or should I go D-series turbo? Right now I have an LS swap with GSR tranny and bolt ons...
What numbers can I expect to run at the track on motor (H22) and how do H series motors compare to a B16? I am new to H series motors so any advice is appreciated.

Honestly, I love D series turbo! However, w/ an H22 hatch boosted...its game over
You really cant go wrong with that setup for $1700. It really just depends on what your goals are, and what you're trying to accomplish. If you like turbo's, and just want a mild setup...boost a D. If you like NA...that H22 hatch will be quicker than ****

WTF? You can't 'overboost' the sleeves
. The weak point of the H-series is the piston ringlands...they are thin and will most likely be the first thing to fail under high pressure or detonation.
The problem with the FRM sleeves is that they won't accept forged pistons, except supposedly Mahle Gold series may work with the FRM....but I don't know that it has been proven.

just get the kit
</TD></TR></TABLE> that's an idea. I'm not exactly sure what fab work needs to be done for the h motors, but if it's too much hassle, save it for later. $1700 is a steal for all that.
As far as track numbers (1/4 mile) I think i've heard some ppl getting into the 12s on a good tune. Someone correct me if i'm wrong. Did he ever abuse the motor? I just hate putting motors that are ready to fail right after you put iti in. gl

but if do h2b, dont use an ls tranny. probably as bad as using a f22 tranny.</TD></TR></TABLE>
why would he use an f tranny on a h2b?
h2b = h series motor with b series tranny.
he has a gsr tranny already.
with the h2b kit he wouldnt have to worry with shift cables, as he would be using his b series tranny

You misunderstood his post. He was saying that an LS tranny is as bad as an F22 tranny.
Try reading and understanding next time.

h2b= lights out... i've never driven one but i've seen them and researched them. with an h2b you can keep up with k series... and a boosted h2b.... oh god.
i hear they sell full kits for h2b swaps now so that there is very minimal fabrication
