87 GN(I know, not a honda but who cares?)
Okay guys, I was wondering if any of you know how much boost I could crank to on stock internals on my car, I want to be completely safe, but I've heard of guys running 18psi on stock internals on 87 GNs, I'm running 12psi, any ideas?
i dunno much about anything, but i have a neighbor who is running 15 psi on stock internals. He is a gearhead tho, and has that thing tuned to a T.. running 12 sec's consistanly
(EDIT: his car is a GN BTW lol)

Hey,
Pritty crazy you post this question today because I just got back from the track and out there I talked to this guy which also had a 87 GN and he was running 12.2 or low twelves at least all day long...
His setup was stock block port and polished heads 50 trim garret turbo(not sure on the a/r's) alcohol injection all of that at 25psi and than the usual 3" turbo back exhaust. He sead last year he ran a best of 11.70 which is pritty darn crazy I think..
So I'm pritty sure you can crank up the boost on your grand national with some minor BPU's (basic performace upgrades). I would try finding a forum or a website that caters to gn enthusists and find out what you need to get that car flying fast. If i had the money I would buy one, becuse they are just cool in my oppinion..
Good Luck on your hunt for information...
Adi
Im sure you already know this, but anytime you are going to increase the pressure you will have more heat. So you are gonna need some sort of intercooling which the GN already has, kinda. But I would recomend something like an alcohol/water injection like this: http://www.geocities.com/rad87gn/tech/SteveCkit.html

Art, I know that, and I have a way to deal with it, luckily
The car is not overheating now, and I do not expect it to heat up *tons* more with 2-4more psi, but it will heat more, and I was tihnking about the alcohol injected thing
thanks for the info guys,
