97 CIVIC (searched)
i have a 97 civic and it has had a crapy start up since i bought the car. i changed all the basics fuel filter, fuel pump, dizzy cap, rotor button, wires, plugs, ect. ect. my car still has a shitty start up and kind of sputters when i first take off from a dead stop.
The other night i was adjusting my valves and i looked at the temp sensor for the ecu. i got to thinking maybe that is why i have shitty start up. i finished my valves and started the car up. it sputtered and when i unhooked the temp sensor for the ecu the car idled alittle higher but the spudder was gone.
at first i thought it was the sensor. so i got a new one. that didn't work. so now im thinking that sense that sensor makes the car run richer when its not working/unhooked maybe my car is not getting the proper amount of fuel or the Fuel pressure. and maybe that is why it is not running good when i take off from a dead stop
ps i drove the car with the sensor unhooked and it drove 100x better.
any suggestions on why it would do this? any input would be great. thanks.

wild guess here maybe you have the plugs mixxed up. the TPS and the one next to it. I'm not sure what its called but i plugs from beneath.
worth try to switch them over...that happens alot

if your talking bout the iacv i have done a mini me swap so i have a 2 wire IACV and the TPS is 3 wires. But i will try switching the TPS and the other sensor on the throttle body (i belive its the MAP sensor) and see what that dose.
anyone else have any ideas.
