When I am driving at 4K rpms + my shifter is rattling, so I jacked up my car to see if I could see any thing wrong, and I could. It is touching the top of the exhaust piping. has anyone else had this problem and fixed it, or anyone have any ideas?? thanks

my friend had the same problem just remove the bushing at the end of the shift linkage. (ie. the bushing right underneath the shifter, the one with two bolts). Should bring the shifter up enough to clear the exhaust. It worked for him.

i've never heard of a skunk2 having a clearance problem. is the n1 designed for your particular model and year, or has it been modified in any way?

 

it has been a little modified, but nothing to do with the height. I have the JDM headers, so they had to cut like an inch off so it would fit. my friend with a 99 si has the same problem.

your shift linkage is hitting on yer exhaust
w/ the catback n1 the resonator is right there
thats the rattling noise you hear almost nothin you can do about it
