2006 Civic EX Sedan - Amp Wiring Question. URGENT - Project left Hanging
Hello All.
I just installed a Kenwood 2/3/4 Channel Amp. Used the line level inputs from rear speakers for the signal and then output l/r to the original factory speakers, output one bridged channel to a new boxed sub. All of the wiring is great and is tested working.... WE left the project with ONE problem....
WE dont know where to get power in the trunk for the amp trigger.
I have the stock HU and did not have the bass option installed when we bought the car.
I simply need a power source in the trunk so the amp only turns on when the ignition is on...
Please help.

You're gonna have to run power up the the remote turn on from the factory radio OR run it up to the ignition wire under the steering wheel. There is no power in the trunk that is ignition controlled.
Factory Amp Turn-on is light blue at the radio harness
Ignition is blue and the accessory wire is orange all at the ignition harness...
either of the 2 will work.
the easiest way to hit the ignition harness would be to just pop off the bottom panel and i believe theres a little metal plate behind that, but remove those and the ignition harness is the really thick wiring running from in the steering wheel shroud, to above and in-between the gas and brake pedal, use a razor and cut away the tubing covering the harness... its really easy to find...
