h22 Dist problem, help
I originally posted this in the hybrid forum but i'm not getting any ansnwers so i'm gonna try to expand my audience because i really need my car on the road.
"I have a 01 accord Euro R h22 longblock and a 97 type-r tranny with the QSD kit. I have a p28 ecu with hondata s200 but with my factor distributor on the car it doesn't send the pulse to injectors 2 and 4. We took my b-series distributor and used it with the car ( which required a friend holding it in place) and all 4 cyclinders fired correctly..
Anyone know why.. I guess i'm really asking what kinda of h-series distributor do i need so that my car will run lol any help.. what year.. is there a difference from obd2b and obd2a distributors?.. i have my tegs obd2a wiring harness..with a rywire.com obd2a -> obd1 harness jumper. so would i need a h-series distributor wired for a obd2a harness?.. i'm confused.. help.. thanx much!.. .
With this problem fixed my car will be on the road. i'm really syked so any help at all would be great.. "

wrong. obd1 and obd2 distributors will both work on either obd1 or obd2 ecus. As long as you take care of the ckp/tdc sensors correctly, they interchange fine. Proof: my car. I'll elaborate if need be.
op: I would say that the ecu you have is bad if it only sends two of the injectors a signal. Using the b series computer proved that your wiring and all is fine. and btw the distributor has nothing to do with sending signal to the injectors.
buy a new dist.

I'm aware of the differences between distributors, but for the most part the easier option is to switch out to an OBDI distributor when running an OBDI ecu.
BTW, with the OBDII distributor re-wiring, will it allow you to manually adjust the ignition timing?

Yes, if by manually adjust you mean rotating the distributor housing. Word has it that 97+ preludes are not adjustable but I know my 96 housing was.
The ecu has nothing to do with the distributor, though the engine harness does, and the engine harness has to mate to the car. Obd2 engine harnesses will not fit in obd1 cars and the same goes for obd1 harnesses in obd2 cars. So, unless you change wiring, it is definitely easier to match the distributor/oil pump to the car's obd system.

Called Seth at QSD and he gave me a tip. I put my b18c5 distr. guts inside the h22 distr. housing.
running now. Just through CEL 14 and TPS needs adjusting.. then my h2bR will be on the move.. ..i hope.
