Default steering wheel starts shaking @ 50 mph +

When i drive on the freeway or go past around 50mph +, my steering wheel starts to shake. I don't know what it might be. Could it be a lose bolt or could it be my tires? Any help or feedback on this will be appreciated. Thanks

my bet is on tires. I had a shake at 40/45 got new tires installed and it went away.

Also you might have lost the balance weight on one of the wheel.

I would take it to a tire shop and have them check the balance.

I used to have that same exact problem with my teg, one day it just went away. (Shortly after it went my power stearing pump seized up)

Changed the front tires on my beater hatch...rebalanced them and viola! The shake was gone on my car. Give it a shot... The tires I had were old and cracking btw.

ball joints can also cause the vibration, so if your wheels get balanced and you still have the problem, replace your ball joints to start.

does your shifter or anything other than the wheel vibrate and shake like the wheel? if so most likely JUST GET TIRES BALANCE!! thats all!
