Default brake pad sounds after pad change?

Hey guys,

Just changed the rear pads to Hawk HPS's, and I left the stock rotors due to autozone giving me the wrong rotors. Haven't done the fronts yet, that's what I'm abou to do. I took it for a quick road test though, and I had a question. Am I supposed to have brake pad noise when I'm driving around without the brakes engaged? It's obviously just a light pressure sound, but it is audible from the driver's seat. The rotors are obviously slightly untrue, from how the sounds sound, if you know what I mean. I don't notice any significant resistance on the wheels (if I put it in neutral and coast, I don't feel like I slow down any faster than before). Any input?

Also, can I change the rotors without changing the pads again, or will that cause reduced braking performance due to the pads re-bedding?

Thanks for any input!

the pads will make noise for a while especially since you just did a pad slap without turning the rotors or replacing them. make sure you used a moly paste on the pads for noise reduction and greased the slides were the pads rest in. noise should go away.

did you screw the piston into the caliper enough, or did you get it close and then work the caliper with pads back onto the rotor?

I saw that done last week and it DEFINATELY made a difference.
